Pastor Wayne Rispalje
I was born in L.A. California and raised in Tehachapi Cali. I moved to Las Vegas in 1962 with my parents. After high school I joined the U.S. Navy. Became a diver and for a time worked off shore. I felt the Lord’s calling to learn more about His word so I attended Calvary Chapel Bible school in Twin Peaks in 1978. From that time on I felt called to be a shepherd. I came back to Las Vegas and helped to start Calvary Chapel Las Vegas. I have lead numerous Bible studies, involved with prison ministry, the rescue mission, street witnessing on the strip and mission trips to Mexico. I was on staff as a pastor in two other churches through the years. In 1994 my wife and I joined the team of Calvary East. I took on jobs as a carpenter, a truck driver and even tried my hand at working in the casino as a crap dealer. That is were I met my wife Joni. She was a 21 dealer. We were married in 1982. After being married a short time we both left the casino business.
After a year at Calvary Chapel East I was asked to be an Elder and in 1998 I was asked to pastor Calvary Chapel East. Since that time the Lord has changed the name to: Calvary Chapel Son-Rise and moved us to our present location. And with His direction, we hope to reach the lost. We are committed to train up people for the ministry and reaching the lost. We have a heart for missions: in our neighborhood, also reaching out to the gang, going to Mexico and then beyond as the Lord leads.
**Hobbies: all sports but mostly swimming, playing racket ball, tennis and team roping. When I find the time.
Hope to see you in church! Keep praising Him!
